DLTM coordinate the committee of the LAB-Sea by collaborating with ENEA, INGV, CNR, IIS and it owns two marine observatories , one is positioned and installed about 6.5 nautical miles off the Protected Marine Area of the Five Lands, where the depth reaches 600 metres, while the other is installed in the Bay of Santa Teresa where the deph reaches 10 metres. In the observatories there is a chain of instruments to monitor geophysical and oceanographic parameters (salinity, temperature, turbidity and speed in the sea of the current) to study the climate change and to protect the marine ecosystems.
